Illinois Voices for Coverage
Project Director: James Duffet
The Health Care Justice Campaign – Health Care For All is the statewide Consumer Voices for Coverage project seeking to support the achievement of quality, affordable health coverage for everyone in the state by expanding a variety of organizational capacities. The specific aims of the project are to utilize an active network of locally-based consumer coalitions organized by regions throughout the state to generate an expanded base of advocates for health care reform, to employ more effective communications strategies to emphasize the benefits of reform for the insured as well as the uninsured in the state, and to engage the small business community through strategic partnerships with key labor and provider stakeholders.
The Campaign for Better Health Care (CBHC) is leading the Health Care Justice Campaign – Health Care For All initiative. In its 18-year history, CBHC has played an important role in Illinois’ success in preserving and expanding coverage with a diverse statewide network of consumer groups and other stakeholders through its creation of the Health Care Justice Campaign (HCJC) in 2003.
